Evolution vol 2 ( March 2009)

The classical Evolution Vol 2 followed in march 2009. After much reflection and growth in the art of making beats seamrock found it necessary to follow up their first project . by the time the beat tape dropped it had already created a buzz on social sites and forums such Africasgateway and Facebook. As one of the featured artists (san) said “the gods have sharpened the swords”, K10’s divine basslines had become more complex and Cymtom’s mixing and sampling had also become advance. The beat tape kicks off with Origins a beat that fused Sankomota , Lenny Williams and cymtom doing the honours of welcoming the listeners. K10 steps in with skillfully chopped “accusations” this is then followed by a banger by Aurakle , seamrocks last born with a beat that was later used on the Hip Hop Campus Mixtape at the National University of Lesotho. Tracks like Kea mo rata in which the legendary Mpharanyane had heads smiling , some even told that such beats even captured an audience outside the beat tape culture and hip hop itself. This is evident in the many attempts that were made by various artist at recording the beat, with and without the consent of the composer. These include Mlaba (Swaziland) Artform and later Skebza. As for Boomslang ,he maintains his soulful taste throughout the entire tape. The project also features the usual affiliate San the Instrumonumentalist with two joints ; paying dues was recorded to by Tsowtang while “I don’t stop” made a brilliant joint in Swaziland on the yet to be released “suppressed thought of dead poets “. The project also features a K10 produced joint by chicago based PC da southboy, “gangsta shit” The tape closes with runin basic boom bap joint and finally a preview of the so much overdue lyricist mixtape from seamrock. This is what some of the listeners had to say

“That's wat it is...too hot......nyc one Cymtom & the entire Seamrock fam, keep on bringin that heat... I'd love to hav a hard copy though....
