Signs and Symptoms Vol 1 (December 2008)

If it were possible to travel back in time December 2008 would have been a convenient time to catch an exclusive on Cymtom’s first beat tape on one of the local radio stations that supported upcoming artist at that time. Quick snippets of the beat tape played on the Core Wrekah hosted Home brewed Five. The project received love and made a name for the would be respected beat maker.Notable joints include those short but intricate sounds that randomly threw in snippets that chanted “seamrock” , Other beats were fused with poetry footage by local poet Thato and a track that was made with audio extracted from video footage; love letter a dedication to a yesteryears acquaintance. it also featured a fellow beatmaker by the name of motalio. While cymtom still lacked confidence at that time with regard to quality of his sound and the matuirity of his beats, the tape was generally received well, most of his peers still find some the beats classical up to this day. The beats have since then been used on numerous projects, including radio programs as background sounds (Among others Miss Ultimate Breakfast, Redenzvous on Ultimate FM), video documentaries ( Land Locked entertanment’s Youth issues series), and by various artists on mixtapes both in Lesotho and in countries such as Swaziland and south afirca.( Among others Abdul Hakeem, VDT, Prelayder, Dj Phakzino, Struggle and Falkon, The movement from Swaziland ).Download
